Our Lighthouse is seriously starting to show her age. Even with some recent maintenance she continues to be at the mercy of the marine lelements. Below are a few pictures that show areas that are in need of some TLC. We need repairs to the roof and gutter system, the rusty stair rail needs corrosion control and several granite steps need to be replaced. All of these are currently being planned and we are waiting for the Army Corp of Engineers approval to get started. Public comment to the Army Corp of Engineers could be helpful to raise awareness at their level of the need to be able to proceed.

We believe that we can slow the deterioration to the interior of the lighthouse with the addtion of electrical power to provide heat and dehumidification. The nearest electrical power is located at the Park Horse Campground and would involve running it to the lighthouse. Another option could be a solar system with panels located behind the existing bathroom facility and power run via an existing conduit to the lighthouse. These options have been presented to the Army Corp of
Engineers.
